Chan Brothers Travel Launches Exclusive Charter Flights to Bhutan

Chan Brothers Travel celebrates 60 years with exclusive direct flight tours to Bhutan, making the Kingdom more accessible to Singaporean families seeking meaningful travel experiences

As more Singaporean families seek meaningful travel experiences beyond the usual tourist destinations, Bhutan is emerging as a top choice. Thanks to a landmark collaboration between Chan Brothers Travel, Bhutan’s Department of Tourism, and Drukair, the Kingdom’s national airline, this once-remote destination is now within easier reach.

To commemorate its 60th anniversary, Chan Brothers Travel is expanding its strategic vision by offering exclusive chartered direct flights to Bhutan, solidifying its position as the only travel agency in Singapore with such privileged air access.

Why Bhutan Should Be on Your Family’s Travel List

Nestled in the Eastern Himalayas, Bhutan is a one-of-a-kind destination that balances cultural heritage, environmental conservation, and spiritual richness. Often referred to as the last great Himalayan kingdom, Bhutan famously prioritises Gross National Happiness over GDP — a philosophy that resonates with families seeking deeper, more enriching holidays.

Here are just a few experiences families can enjoy:

  • Visiting ancient fortresses and temples like the iconic Paro Taktsang, or Tiger’s Nest

  • Immersing in Bhutanese festivals filled with music, dance, and colour

  • Trekking peaceful trails surrounded by pristine mountain scenery

  • Learning about Bhutan’s commitment to environmental and cultural sustainability

What’s New: Direct Access from Singapore to Bhutan

Previously requiring multiple transits, travel to Bhutan is now more convenient than ever. Chan Brothers Travel is the only agency in Singapore offering exclusive direct chartered flights to Bhutan via Drukair.

  • The number of chartered flights has expanded from 6 in 2024 to 30 across 2025 and 2026

  • Flights are timed to match school holidays and peak travel periods

  • Packages include well-curated itineraries suitable for families, with a mix of cultural, scenic, and relaxing experiences

Strengthening Travel Ties Between Singapore and Bhutan

In late June 2025, Ms Chan Guat Cheng, Executive Director of Chan Brothers Travel, met with Bhutan’s Prime Minister Dasho Tshering Tobgay and Minister of Industry, Commerce and Employment Lyonpo Namgyal Dorji to reinforce the agency’s commitment to Bhutan’s tourism vision.

“Bhutan stands apart as a destination of quiet power — where nature and culture exist in profound harmony. It is a privilege to pioneer exclusive chartered direct flight tours into the Kingdom to meet growing demand, particularly during peak travel seasons,” said Ms Chan.

A Memorandum of Understanding between Chan Brothers Travel and Drukair will be signed on 4 July 2025 in Singapore to formalise this partnership, aimed at enhancing tourism and air connectivity between the two nations.

What This Means for Singaporean Families

This new collaboration makes it easier for families in Singapore to explore Bhutan while aligning with values of sustainability, authenticity, and enrichment. With the support of Bhutan’s Department of Tourism and Drukair, Chan Brothers Travel is offering:

  • A seamless travel experience with direct flights and curated tours

  • Exclusive access to a destination known for peace, nature, and culture

  • Family-friendly itineraries perfect for school holidays and bonding time

Ready for a More Meaningful Holiday?

Bhutan offers families a rare opportunity to unplug, reflect, and reconnect. Whether you’re hiking through pristine valleys or sharing tea with local villagers, every moment in Bhutan brings a chance to explore a different way of life — one rooted in harmony, happiness, and simplicity.
