Juanzi 2: PSLE Go – Are PSLE grades worth dying for?

2 min read

Recently, a 10-year-old boy committed suicide. It is hard to fathom that at such a young age, an individual would be able to think that death was the only solution. Our children should be growing, living, and laughing.

Instead, they are overloaded with activities and stressed out by the amount of pressure that we place on their shoulders. Thus, there us hardly any time left for them to enjoy their childhood.

Juanzi 2: PSLE Go, is a short film produced by Splash Productions as a social initiative. They hoped that through the production and release of the film, more parents and teachers will become aware of the enormous pressures we place on our children.

Splash Productions tackled the topic, often viewed as taboo, with a firm yet light-hearted approach. The audience walked away understanding the prominence of this topic in Singapore, without being left feeling hopeless.

The story told through the lives of 2 Singaporean students preparing for PSLE and their families, allows parents to see that your child’s life is far important than any grade will ever be.
