On 1 June 2025, more than 2,000 people gathered for the Peace and Prosperity Singapura (PPSG) SG60 Walkathon, a commemorative event marking both Singapore’s 60th year of independence and the 10th anniversary of organiser Tao One Ltd. The 5km route began at Hong Lim Green and concluded at Marina Barrage, passing iconic landmarks such as Chinatown, Merlion Park, and Gardens by the Bay.
The walkathon was graced by former President Madam Halimah Yacob, who praised the event’s message of unity. Running from 27 to 29 June 2025, Stories from an Island City – Celebrating 60 Years of Singapore is a live concert experience by The TENG Ensemble, reimagining cherished local folk songs like Chan Mali Chan, Ni Wa Wa, and Kakak Tua in new sonic blends of East and West.
Joining them on stage are guest performers from Bhaskar’s Arts Academy, Nadi Singapura, percussionist Lalit Kumar, accordionist Syafiqah ‘Adha, Voices of Singapore, and the Mapletree-TENG Scholars—each bringing their unique sound to this nostalgic celebration.
