Make the most of the outdoors and parks. Choose one that you don’t visit that often, so it keeps the kids excited. Make sure there is a nice play area for the kids or maybe a sand pit.
Pack up the snacks, the mats, a frisbee and head there for a lovely relaxed evening. Make sure you carry an ice box with loads of water and drinks and a bag full of snacks/ sandwiches/ rolls. If you are a bit more enthusiastic, book a BBQ pit at any of the parks and stay on till late evening.
You will be surprised to see how much fun the whole family has!
